LabeLase® Producer™ Metal Tag Production Software
The LabeLase® Producer Tag Production Software is a Windows program designed to control InfoSight’s LabeLase® Metal Tag Printer models LL1000, LL1000V, LL1000P, LL3000, LL4000, LL28xx and JM410. Version 3 allows you to control up to four printers with one computer.
The following utilities are available for the InfoSight ARM based CPU card (ITM32137.) This card is used to control the latest models of InfoSight’s I-Dent®, InfoDent® and InfoTag® printers.
*This Windows utility allows you to upgrade the firmware on the CPU card via a USB interface. Requires a micro USB cable and firmware file for your application. View instructions for using the DfuSe utility here.
*This Windows utility allows you to configure the IP address of the CPU card. Connect the card to your Ethernet network and run this utility to find it and set its IP address.

Many InfoSight industrial marking systems have an Ethernet port to connect them to a user's network. These systems use TCP/IP sockets to communicate with the system's PLC and/or plant automation system. Usually, InfoSight provides the program in the PLC that sends data to the marker over this communications link and the end user doesn't have to deal with the details of the socket link. However, in some cases the end user needs to establish a second connection to the marking system in order to perform some bit of side-channel communications such as changing a parameter setting or downloading a message to be marked. The Sample Extended Protocol Application is a simple demonstration of how this communications link can be accomplished.
This sample application and all of its source code is released under the open source MIT license. See the license document license.txt supplied with the package or go to https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT for more information.
InstallationDownload the sample application source code and copy the ZIP file to a folder on your Windows computer. Unzip the contents of the archive, keeping the original file structure. The software is supplied as a Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 project written in the C# .NET programming language. You will need to install Microsoft Visual Studio on your computer to compile the sample application. If you are only interested in the example source code then you won't need the Microsoft tools.
To aid in the setup and debugging of the InfoSight Extended Protocol communications link, we have created a simulator program for Microsoft Windows. This simulator program, called ExProSim, can act as either the communications link master or the slave and will allow you to enter messages and send them to our marking systems.
The program is provided as a ZIP file which must be unzipped before use.
Once you have downloaded the file, create a directory on your hard drive called C:\HOSTSIM and place the zipped file in that directory. Unzip the file into the same directory. It is important that the HOSTSIM directory exists on your C hard drive because the simulator utilities will place parameter files there.
When you start the simulator, make sure you set the communications parameters (baud rate, parity, etc.) using the Setup/Communications menu.
The ExProSim program provides multiple sets of messages which can be entered. For each, enter the desired message type as required by the marking system and any associated Send Text. Press the Send button for that message and view the results in the Status field at the bottom of the screen. If the marker returns data as part of the message, it will appear in the Received Text field under the data you sent.
Note that this free software utility is provided as-is, with no express or implied warranty as to product usefulness, fitness for application or freedom from defects.
