Job Overview

InfoSight Corporation, headquartered in Chillicothe, Ohio, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of custom asset identification and tracking machinery used in harsh environments and currently has an exciting opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to join our Employee-Owned team.

The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for developing identification products that serve customers with unique asset identification needs in challenging environments. Applications can span from identifying structural steel through the galvanizing process to patient histological samples collected for cancer identification. A deep understanding of a wide variety of industrial and medical processes is critical to the success of this role. This position is an individual contributor and will report directly to the Vice President of Research & Development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development projects from inception through to commercialization including partnering with business development manager as well as working with customers to understand product needs and user experience

  • Develop new identification products that survive extreme heat, chemical attack, and a variety of other severe process conditions

  • Provide technical and application support to both customers and sales

  • Design lab scale tests for product qualification, troubleshooting, and quality control

  • Monitor industry trends to keep ahead of competition and disruptive technologies

  • Expand the company’s IP portfolio through patents and trade secrets, to create long-term competitive advantages

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a solid understanding of materials science

  • Minimum 2 years of research and development experience for an industrial company

  • Strong problem-solving and execution skills for developing creative solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements

  • Self-starting data driven problem solver with a proven track record of delivering project outcomes

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
