X/Y Marker Font Files

The X/Y Continuous Character marker utilizes downloaded font files. The following font files are available for download.

These programs are provided as a ZIP file which must be unzipped before use. If you do not have an unzip utility, visit PKWare or WinZip to obtain a copy.

Once you have downloaded the file, create a directory on your hard drive called C:\XYFONTS and place the zipped file in that directory. Unzip the file into the same directory.

File Name Max Fonts* Orientation/ Mode Description
1015A.zip (approx. 161KB) 3 Upright / 1 Three fonts: 1.25", 2.0", 2.2" , Low Density
1016B.zip (approx. 161KB) 3 Inverted / 2 Three fonts: 1.25", 2.0", 2.2", Low Density
0607C.zip (approx 105KB) 3 Upright / 1 One font: 4.0", High Density
0918B.zip (approx 80KB) 3 Inverted / 2 Three fonts: 3.0", 2.0", 2.2" , High Density
03241.zip (approx. 90KB) 2 Inverted / 2 Two fonts: 4", High Density
1016JA.zip (approx. 109KB) 1 Upright / 1 One font: 4", , Low Density
1016JB.zip (approx. 109KB) 1 Inverted / 2 One font: 4",, Low Density
1016JC.zip (approx. 69KB) 1 Upright / 1 One font: 2.4", , Low Density
1016JD.zip (approx. 69KB) 1 Inverted / 2 One font: 2.4", Low Density
1290.zip (approx. 52KB) 1 Upright / 1 One font: 2.4", High Density
1291.zip (approx. 78KB) 1 Upright / 1 One font: 4", High Density
1292.zip (approx. 52KB) 1 Inverted / 2 One font: 2.4", High Density

*Note: Files containing only one or two fonts are for older versions of the X/Y Continuous Character marker and are not compatible with the three font files used in newer markers. Before loading a font in your marker, please confirm the maximum number of fonts allowed in that marker.

The font files are transferred to the X/Y Continuous Character marker using a DOS utility program called FontSend.exe. A zipped file (FontSend.zip ,approx. 19KB) containing this program can be downloaded to the same XYFONTS directory and unzipped.

To use the FontSend.exe utility program, perform the following steps.

  1. From DOS, in the same directory as the program/font files, type FONTSEND <FILENAME>

  2. This will send the font file <FILENAME> to the default COMM port (Port 2) at the default parameters (9600 Baud, 8 Bits, 1 Stop bit, No Parity)

  3. To specify a different port or comm. setting, add the appropriate optional parameters: Each parameter must be separated from the others with at least one space on the command line.

Parameter Action
-C# Select Comm Port (1 = COM1, 2 = COM2)
-B# Select Baud Rate (e.g. 9600)
-D# Select Number of Data Bits (7 or 8)
-S# Select Number of Stop Bits (1 or 2)
-PX Select Parity (X= N,O or E - for None, Odd or Even)

For example, to send the file 1015A.DAT to Comm port 1 at 19200 baud, type the following at the DOS prompt and then press the Enter key:

FONTSEND 1015A.DAT -C1 -B19200
